The Naknek River offers great King Salmon fishing with limits of 3 kings per person per day. The river gets returns from 12,000-20,000 kings per year with less angling effort compared to other King sport fisheries around the state - which can make your Naknek River sport fishing trip very rewarding. The average size is 25 - 45 lb. with some hitting the 60+ range. Fishing the lower river back trolling using plugs such as Magnum Wiggle Warts or casting big spoons is very effective. In mid season the kings are concentrated in their spawning areas; so drifting with Spin-n-Glo set-ups or casting cross-current will bring you luck. Hook the fish that holds tight to the river floor in this crystal clear river.
